About Armine Avakian

Armine Avakian, APRN, ANP is a compassionate and dedicated advanced nurse practitioner specializing in dermatology in Pasadena, CA. She provides consultations and sees general medical and cosmetic dermatology appointments at California Dermatology & Mohs Surgery Specialists. In addition, she also sees patients at Huntington Hospital, Glendale Adventist Medical Center and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital as an affiliate. As part of her personalized and detail-oriented care, she considers the uniqueness of each patient's situation and adapts her treatment options to accommodate individual needs.  She keeps up-to-date on the latest breakthroughs in her field to provide patients with the most appropriate treatment plans and works closely together with Dr. Soleymani for truly optimized patient care. As background, Armine completed her nursing residency program at UC Irvine Medical Center. Her tenure as an orthopedic/trauma nurse at UC Irvine developed her skills as an experienced trauma and surgical nurse, where she cared for the full extent of complex and emergent patients. She was awarded numerous nursing accolades during her tenure at UC Irvine medical center. Following her time at UC Irvine, Armine went on to complete a rigorous advanced Nurse Practitioner program at UCLA and obtained her Advanced Practice Degree in 2020.  While at UCLA, Armine received accolades from the Nurse Practitioner Honor Society at UCLA and by the International Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for her outstanding academic performance.  After obtaining her advanced NP degree, Armine worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as in Peri-Operative Anesthesia at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center.  In addition to English, Armine is also proficient in Armenian and Russian.  She continues to be a member of the American Nurses Association, and attends numerous training programs throughout the year to ensure that she stays up-to-date with the literature and her training.  In her spare time, Armine loves spending time with her husband and daughter, cooking, gardening, and staying active.  She has also recently taken up vase painting and staining and rekindled her love for playing the piano.
